TO MAKE THE TENT ONE
A teaching from Torah portion Vayakhel, source of a Torah vision of community
to be considered throughout the year, through all the weeks of Torah portions
TO MAKE OF ONESELF A SANCTUARY
Torah Portion/Parashat Pekude
Even as our ancestors built the desert sanctuary, the mishkan, the commandment to
build a sanctuary remains incumbent upon each of us. The sanctuary that we are to
build is given design in the shaping of our own lives, to be in the way of our living a
dwelling place for God.
TO WALK HUMBLY WITH GOD -- AND WITH EACH OTHER
Torah Portion/Parashat Vayikra
To walk humbly with God means necessarily to walk humbly  with people. Humility is
the bridge by which we can draw near to each other and to God.
IN THE INNERMOST PLACE OF TORAH THERE IS SILENCE
Torah Portion/Parashat Sh’mini
In Parashat Sh’mini is the very middle of the Torah, a silent space between two words
in which can be heard the “still small voice” of God.
SHARE YOUR PAIN, THAT OTHERS MAY CRY WITH YOU
Torah Portion/Parashat Tazria
The primary theme in Parashat Tazria is leprosy. It is a difficult portion to read,
reflecting in its language the difficulties of which it speaks. Beneath the surface is a
tender message of hope and compassion that speaks to all of us.
