- “And it was evening…, Meditation and Ma’ariv”
Thursday, February 4th, and each first Thursday of the month, from 7:30 to 8:30
In Jewish time, ever since Creation, a new day’s journey begins at night, and the
days find their rest in Shabbat. To help us on our journey through the days and
toward Shabbat, please join us for a Thursday evening meditation series. Guided
by Carl Woolf and Rabbi Victor Reinstein, we will engage together in sitting
meditation, chant, Torah study and traditional evening prayers. All are most
welcome.
Saturday March 6th, 4 pm until havdalah at 6:20 pm
In conjunction with Rabbi Or Rose of the Hebrew College Rabbinical School,
Nehar Shalom is hosting a Seudah Sh’lishit series for rabbinical students and the
Nehar Shalom community. Seudah Sh'lishit is the wonderfully soulful traditional
third Shabbos meal. After mincha, the afternoon service, we will sit down for a
light meal, singing in minor key, and text learning.
There will also be a seudah sh’lishit on April 17th and May 15th. All are welcome.
- Hebrew Conversation Group
If you’d like to practice the Hebrew language skills you have (or used to have),
join us for informal Hebrew conversation gatherings at members’ homes. For
more information, contact Howard Katz at hckma@yahoo.com or Ruth Schechter
at ruthsch@earthlink.net.
- LOOKING FOR TORAH/HAFTARAH READERS, PRAYER LEADERS, AND D’VAR
TORAH GIVERS
Nehar Shalom offers a warm and supportive atmosphere in which to lead and try
out new skills. Please don’t be shy! Call Rabbi Reinstein at 617-522-3618 or send
an email to: rabbi@neharshalom.org. REMEMBER: KAVANAH (heartfelt intention)
COUNTS FOR MUCH MORE THAN PERFECTION!
Would you like to learn any of the above synagogue skills? Would you like to
brush up on skills that have lain dormant? Click here for current learning
programs or please call or email rabbi@neharshalom.org and we will arrange
either individual help or a small class.
- AS PART OF THE DEVELOPING NEHAR SHALOM COMMUNITY, IF YOU ARE IN
NEED OF A RABBI FOR ANY REASON OR YOU WOULD JUST LIKE TO TALK
AND GET ACQUAINTED, YOU ARE MOST WELCOME TO CALL ON RABBI
REINSTEIN.
